Too Cool to Eat
Sterling Dunson

9th Grade
Nasco Painting Canvas
Acrylic paint

This piece of art means... nothing. I drew it because i wanted to draw it. Painting it, though wasn't my cup of tea. I like to draw random and silly stuff. It helps me open up my imagination. This wasn't my MOST creative  piece of art, but it was fun drawing it. I keep drawing because it's the only time i get to know and talk about personal problems to myself without feeling insane. This actually might be a problem. People say that I'm very talented and i should never stop. If those people never told me that, then i would still be drawing, but I most likely wouldn't have considered it as a career or be in the Fine Arts program.

  1. This is a bigger step than what you normally paint. This could also have a really great meaning behind it. Good job!

  2. very cool and creative, the apple for the head is pretty unique and I like how you drew the whole thing in a character like way.

  3. I love how you took the painting Mrs. Rojas showed us and made it more modern with the outfit. Very creative

  4. This piece totally makes me think of the "Son of Man" piece that Ms. Rojas showed us. It's inspiring and really cool to look at. Also your artist statement is surreal.

  5. I like how you made a funky border around the edges of the piece. The way you added the wrinkles to the clothes looks good too.

  6. I like how you used the apple as his head and how it pops out. I would work on blending the paint inside the lines better.

  7. I like the style, but the composition could do with more shading and blending.

  8. I like the style but I thought the man or boy was looking down with a red hat on you should add a leaf.

  10. Cool piece. I like the apple as a head. I think maybe a little more detail could be added but other than that its a good piece.
